I’ve been so busy with private commissions, so here is one of my Cait Sith. Someday I’ll have time to paint this.
The Cait Sith Blank Copper has existed for so long as well as terrorized and tormented by man. He gets cynical joy in knowing that when he dies as does volumes of knowledge of man’s history for he has lived longer than man has understood how to write.

I keep meaning to make a large collection post of all the studies and WIP.
Then I get lazy and scan artwork of a cat instead…
Hey Sir Walter Scott quote so I’ll justify myself by saying Tumblr loves cats…. so do I.

9X12 Strathmore tan paper, graphite, white charcoal, marker and gel pen.
White splatters are added digitally because I don’t trust 90lb paper with wet media.

I try to refrain from posting much fantasy work on here unless it’s published. These ones are my shape shifters cat sith/fae set in Age of Enlightenment, often Napoleonic Wars. It’s the overall theme of how does something of fantasy and superstition exist in a world coming into modern thought and science.

They’re loosely based on Scottish mythology of Cait Sith but I combine a lot of cat mythology with them, then make them based on modern cat breeds… So really they make no sense other than an artist drawing what I like. I do love fantasy elements in an otherwise historical setting on occasion, especially when it doesn’t muck up the historical setting. Immortal bitey cat things in really cool uniforms are fun to draw in my sketchbooks between paid work. :D

Their theme was pirates vs ninjas and their mascot is a raven.

Gel pen, pencil and charcoal white on grey toned paper.

I’ll have some work to post here soon mostly American War of Independence and Seven Years War. My computer died before the new year so I ordered a new one when the new one got here it was beyond broken. Returned it and had to reorder another computer. So we’ll see if the next one is broken as well, I’m hoping it’s not since I’d rather get back onto my work schedule asap.

This new year has started out terribly for me.

1761 Gula Hussar

I seriously have neglected my art blog. Here is some sketch studies of 1761 Gula Hussar. I have some more of just horses but I figured that’s kind of boring.
